Jonathan
Koomey, Ph.D., author of the book Turning Numbers into Knowledge,
will appear on Tech TV this week. The interview will air on
a regularly scheduled feature of Tech TV <http://www.techtv.com/>,
at 3pm EST on Monday 21 April 2003, and 9am EST on Tuesday 22 April
2003.
A
couple of years ago, the energy crisis in California demonstrated
the importance of efficient use of electricity in all applications.
The show will help computer users maximize energy savings from their
PCs, monitors, and peripherals, drawing upon Dr. Koomey’s
two decades of experience in the energy efficiency field.
The
show will also describe some of the features of the Environmental
Protection Agency's Energy Star program for office equipment, and
will help viewers discern fact from fiction in assessing total electricity
used by the Internet.
Finally,
the interview will dispel concern over whether turning your computer
on and off a few times a day will damage it (it won't!).
